Nelo’s goal is always to get as close as possible to the athletes, to better understand their wishes and needs.

Portugal being one of the few countries in Europe where one can paddle all year, added together with the most successful kayak company, turns Portugal into one of the best places in the world for winter paddling, and that is why we decided to create a service that up to the expectations of our athletes.

The idea is to give the athletes:

1. Top of the range facilities;
2. An affordable price;
3. A place where our boats can be tested near us and adjustments can be done;
4. Tour them to our Factory, to show them our process and technology.

In the past 3 seasons we had more than 400 athletes from all over the world visiting us, including:

1. All the single Olympic Champions from Beijing and Athens;
2. A lot of young talents still working their way to the top;
3. Some not so young, just looking for a relaxed week doing their favourite sport in a nice location with awesome equipment.

We have been working with a partner in one of the most beautiful places in Portugal, which is placed in a Unesco World Heritage Landscape, the DOURO. The Hotel could hardly be better placed as it is directly on the water, with all the facilities indoors (gym, recovery room, internet lounge and restaurant).

The demand has been increasing in a way we never predicted and we were pushed to search another place to welcome you. The idea is to offer a completely different landscape and area, that way all those looking for longer training periods can change from one place to the other. The Hotel is in Alentejo and it’s a resort kind of hotel, including all kinds of entertainment and equipments. Also, its geographical location, in one of the warmest areas in Portugal, assures us the athletes will have top quality training.
